A new study published in the Journal of Medical Physics, “Virtual Mentoring for Medical Physicists: Results of a Global Online Survey,” explores how virtual mentoring can support the professional development of medical physicists worldwide. This work was conducted through Medical Physics for World Benefit (MPWB).

The survey gathered perspectives from 396 respondents across 76 countries, examining factors that contribute to successful mentoring, potential barriers, mentor–mentee matching, meeting formats, and expectations. The findings provide practical guidance for developing an accessible and effective global virtual mentorship program for medical physicists.
